Clark the Shark: A Big Personality with a Big Heart

Clark the Shark is such a great story—for everyone, not just shark lovers! Clark is a lovable, relatable character with a huge personality. In fact, he’s so full of energy and excitement that it starts to overwhelm his closest friends.

Clark attends Theodore Roosterfish Elementary, and every day he bursts into school like a blustering storm. He absolutely loves life—school is awesome, lunchtime is sweet, and recess totally rocks!

But as much as Clark loves his friends, they start to feel like he’s playing too rough and being a little too much. They try to tell him, but it’s hard for Clark to understand. Eventually, he decides to ask his teacher, Mrs. Inkydink, for help. She gives him some simple advice: “Stay cool.”

Clark really tries to follow her advice, but it’s not easy. He just gets so excited! I see this all the time with my grandkids—they have such big, wonderful personalities, but they sometimes struggle to stay calm when they’re excited, just like Clark.

Then Clark discovers that rhyming helps him remember what to do. It’s a fun and clever strategy that really works! But just when he’s starting to get the hang of it, a new student named Sid the Squid arrives—and suddenly, everything changes.

This story is fun, energetic, and filled with heart. It’s a great reminder for kids (and adults) about how to manage big feelings, listen to others, and be a great friend.
